Tim and I spent a week in Huatulco, Mexico and the scale told no lie when it came to how much we ate. We ate, ate, and ate until we gained 10 lbs lol. I was told by several people I know that we haaad to check out a pizza place called, La Crema Bar. La Crema is rated #2 on trip advisor with four stars and if that isn’t enough incentive to go, then maybe their quote will do it, “If you go to Huatulco and don’t visit La Crema you don’t really know Huatulco.” With a quote like that, you better damn well check it out!!
We arrive at La Crema and it was bumpin’! People rushed through the doors and cut in line as if it were a Kanye concert, goddamn! The vibe of La Crema is super interesting! It’s dim, with colored lights everywhere and candles on each table. It almost feels like an underground alternative lounge with the smell of incense burning. The walls are covered in all sorts of artwork and a few mounted animal head sculptures. The music is louder, but not too loud, you could still have a convo with people at your table (or just text lol).
Our waiter came around and I ordered a Victoria beer and Tim got a margarita. At the same time we ordered two small pizzas; La Crema Special and Flavio’s Special. La Crema Special has mushrooms, ham, pepperoni, green pepper and sour cream on it. The Flavio’s Special has onion, sliced tomato, bacon and oregano. The oaxaca cheese they use though…oh my GOD! All pizzas come with a thin crust and are cooked in a clay oven with a wood “using a secret formula” that makes the La Crema pizza so famous.
While we waited for our pizza’s we ordered some Lemon Drop shots to kill some time. I hate hard shots, so I have to stick with the sweet, girly ones and I make Tim take the same one with me lol. After 10-15 minutes, our pizza came and they brought some Maggi soy sauce, habanero hot sauce, and garlic chili oil to accessorize (YUM). There truly aren’t words to describe how delicious this pizza is. SO GOOD. The small pizzas come with 8 slices and we cleaned all that shit up! There was absolutely no room for dessert and I was okay with that.
I highly recommend this spot if you ever find yourself in Huatulco, Mexico! It is a must in my books!
Watch the rest of our La Crema/Huatulco adventure down below! LOL to the title, Tim always comes up with the most obscene things to say. He’s something else!
What’s the best pizza you’ve ever had?
