Cleanse and Tone

In a world full of thousands of choices it’s hard to know what type of cleanser and toner is best for you. Let’s start off by saying that everyone has different skin types and the products that work for me, won’t necessarily work for you. There are several different skin types including normal (me), dry, oily, sensitive, and combination. Before you even start looking at skin care products you should absolutely know what your skin type is. Failure to do so could result in creating problems you don’t have, so the best way to know for sure what your type is, is by having a consultation with a dermatologist. A dermatologist is a doctor specializing in (but not limited to) skin. With your consultation you will be guided in the right direction of a skin care routine that works for you! And it’s from here that you will be overwhelmed with all the products that will make you feel amazing daahlinng!

I couldn’t possibly tell you all the products that I use on my face in one post because that’d be a goddamn essay. So, we will start with the basics of cleansing and toning! I have been a long time fan of a line from France called, Sothy’s. I was first introduced to this line when I was about 12 or 13 years old by my mother (an esthetician). One of my favorite cleansers from Sothy’s is the W+ Cleanser Cream. You can look at this product here. This product effectively removes all the makeup from my face and I’ve noticed that my skin has become brighter, more radiant, and even over time. I love using this cleanser with my Clarisonic because it’s gets nice and bubblaay! For those of you who don’t know what a Clarisonic is, it’s a handheld device that vibrates in a gentle massage motion to cleanse the skin 6x better than with your hands! Great, right? Check it out here.

Following the Sothy’s W+ Cleanser, I always use the Sothy’s W+ Prep Lotion (toner). It leaves my skin feeling soft and dewy. Haay, J Lo glow! If you guys don’t use a toner you should seriously consider it. It adds a layer of moisture, protects the skin, can shrink pores, and add radiance. Once you start to integrate a toner into your skin routine, you will feel a difference in the texture. It will feel as smooth as a baby’s butt and also allows for better penetration of the creams you put on top. You should always finish with a day/night cream and I’ll get into that in another post.

I’m going to share a couple more products with you because I’m a new fan (about a year) and I loove it. I’ve been using Zo Medical Oilacleanse Cleanser for a few months and I’ve noticed a huge change in my skin. It’s more subtle, very soft, and unbelievably radiant. Read about this product here. What makes this product even more amazing is smells like it could be the yummiest gummy bear ever and I love me some gummy bears!! It’s bursting with citrus and the smell alone makes me want to use it all the time.

Okay now, I’ve saved the best for last. This is also a Zo product, by the name of Ossential Daily Power Defense Anti-Aging Formula. Did you get all that? It’s quite the mouth full. I will never, ever, ever, ever go a day without applying this product. It is loaded with antioxidants, repairs damaged DNA (to minimize anti-aging), and it works to bring back our skin’s elasticity! HELLOOO! My skin instantly feels like a million bucks when I apply this product (once daily) and it too, smells like yummy citrus! Using the Daily Power Defense has impacted my skin on exponential levels and is by far my latest obsession.

I hope this post can inspire you to create a routine with products that work for you. These products I’ve listed are not cheap, but keep in mind you get what you pay for. I’m all about skin care and I will not pinch pennies when it comes to the health of my skin, especially my face. It deserves the utmost tender love and care…so treat yourself to an amazing product (but do your research first!). Your skin will love you for it.
