Wedding Beauty Tips

Tim and I are at the 4 month mark until our wedding and the countdown is seriously on! A lot goes into planning a wedding, and that includes beauty. Some routines should be started well in advance for best results and I wanted to share my beauty planning leading up to wedding day!

Lashes

I have a terrible habit of picking my mascara off (yuck, I know) and I have a few bald spots that need help. I’ve been treating my lashes with a conditioning serum to give them a little extra TLC. Currently I am using Lash Food to help with strength and encourage growth.  The key with lash serums is to apply consistently for a few weeks minimum for best results. So get started on this early if you’d like to take your lashes up a notch! I will for sure have a pair of lashes applied for wedding day, but I’d like to have my natural lashes strong and full regardless!

Skin

By now you should know I am a major Zo Skin Health fan. I’ve done several posts about the products I use, you can check that out here and here. In addition to using my regular products, I have been getting monthly Hydra Facial treatments with Zo Skin Health. The Hydra Facial cleanses, extracts, and hydrates. Leaving my skin incredibly soft and radiant- the results are immediate! My esthetician also recommends that we do dermaplaning for wedding day, which I’ve never had done before. Dermaplaning is the process of removing dead skin cells and peach fuzz with a sterile blade. This procedure will leave the skin brighter, smoother, and act as a fresh canvas for bridal makeup.  Hell ya, baby. Sign me up! To find a Zo Skin Health Centre near you, click here!

Laser Hair Removal

I have been getting consistent laser hair removal for my face, underarms, arms, and Brazilian. My results for all areas have been amazing, but I will get a touch up done before wedding day to ensure I am squeaky clean. If you are thinking about laser hair removal and not quite sure if you want to invest your money, I did an entire blog post here on why I personally think it’s worth it! You should aim to get started on your appointments as soon as possible because you will be needing more than 1 appointment for permanent results. Hair

Girl, I have been treating my hair like a Queen these past few weeks. I’m focusing my attention on adding moisture into my hair, like…a lot of moisture. I’ve stepped up my pre poo game (coconut oil), been consistent with my moisture and protein masks, massage oil into my scalp, and get 6 week micro trims to keep my ends fresh. Oh, and I made a real good moisture spray (see below). Even though all this hair care takes an incredible amount of time and money, I have noticed a huge improvement. My hair is shiny, hydrated, and feels great! OH, and if you aren’t already using a silk pillow case to help with breakage, you need to!

DIY Moisture Spray- I use this moisturizing spray on clean damp hair that acts as a leave in. Honestly, I didn’t think it would work as well as it did. Let me tell you, it is amazing. My hair loves it!!

  1. 1/4 cup Vegetable Glycerin
  2. 1/4 cupAloe Vera Gel/ Oil
  3. 1/4 Olive Oil
  4. 1/2 cup Distilled Water
  5. 2 tbsp Avocado Oil
  6. 10 drops Peppermint or Lavender Oil

I took a shot in the dark with my measurements and it seemed to work out pretty good for me. I’m still kinda playing around with what works for my hair- you might have to do the same!  NOTE: If you plan to use essential oils in your spray, make sure the bottle is glass and not plastic. The pure oils will eventually melt down the plastic of the bottle- yikes!

To all my fellow brides, keep your head up girl- we almost there! And to the rest of my beautiful babes, hopefully you were able to take away some helpful beauty tips!
